The alpine climate in the North gives great Nebbiolo in Valtellina.
Further South, close to the lakes and beyond the plain Chardonnay and Pinot Noir do very well especially for sparkling wines.
● Fun facts:
The smallest DOCG of Italy is in Lombardy, it's a red dessert wine called Moscato di Scanzo.
