Gabriele studied accountancy and graduated in graphic design before joining the wine trade in 2008. He has worked in the wine trade ever since, in roles including buying, business development, marketing, education. His specialist areas are Italian wines, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Jerez and natural wines. His initial wine experiences and training were with the Italian Sommelier Association followed by the WSET Diploma graduation and nomination as Certified Educator in wines and spirits. He has been also nominated by the Consejo Regulador of Jerez as Sherry Certified Educator.

He has been Head Sommelier for fine dining and Michelin Star restaurants in Italy, Russia and the UK before focusing on developing training and education. In 2009 he was selected as best sommelier of Marche region to design and pair Italian food and wine for the Russian president during one of his summits. Gabriele hosted several wine tastings and masterclasses with some of the most iconic producers such as Tenuta San Guido, Villa Bucci, Movia or Nicolas Joly.

In 2014 he was the organiser of Vignavagando a themed event with visits and guided dinner directly in the vineyards of the most relevant producers of his home region Marche. Since he moved to England in 2016, he becomes the Wine Director and Educator for a large company where he designs wine training and delivers WSET courses.

After 11 years working for wine importers and restaurants, he found his best path on the educational side, where he is today focused, always happy and passionate to speak about wine.

When he is not giving introductory or technical wine courses, Gabriele is usually found cooking in the kitchen, reading a book or watching a football game. He also tries to balance his passion for food and wine with some jogging but with poor results.
