Even though Calabria was known for its wine when the Greeks first reached the area, the region has long been in the shadows and only recently have a few passionate producers started to put it on the map for its unique grapes.

It's hard to wrap your head around the native grapes in Calabria as Calabrians themselves will call the same grape different names, and different grapes by the same name!
